She had already talked to Matt in the morning over the phone, just a little extra to add to the excitement.  Nicole watched out the window of the room where she was getting ready.  Her parents were on their way with her dress and shoes, and she was watching, knowing that it was just one step closer to seeing him.  She smiled, took a breath, and enjoyed the moment.  Every moment.

The dress arrived with its ever important deliverers, 2 people that have been looking forward to this day almost as much as the couple.  As she prepared, Nicole’s mom and dad watched with big eyes and big smiles as she laughed with her bridesmaids, and toasted with everyone in the room.

When I met up with him, Matt was doing his best to stay out of the hot sun, but I’m sure he could have blamed any sweat on the beautiful weather and the sharp tux, and not nerves.  Calm, cool, and smiling.

Relatives had come from a long way, all to get together for the first time in a long time to share in their day and their love.

At the reception at Glencairn Golf Course, they danced what they had been practicing for weeks well before the wedding.  Frank Sinatra played.  The people that matter most watched and cheered every time Matt would spin Nicole, and bring her back in close to his heart.  Smiling the whole time.

Nicole and Matt – thank you for being you and welcoming me into your lives and for sharing in your wedding day.  It is an honour that I will remember forever.
